Summary

You will serve as a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND SYSTEMS DIVISION of MCRD ERR PI SC.

Responsibilities

– You will develop annual budget requirements and obligation plans, systems planning and engineering for Information Technology communication architecture services.
– You will establish and manage long and short term goals in support of organization/command objectives and priorities.
– You will develop business practices in support of strategic planning, establishing metrics to improve business practices, developing resources and Information Technology Communication services in support of regionalization.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
– Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: SUPERVISES PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DIRECTS THE CONDUCT OF TECHNICAL INSPECTIONS FOR PROJECTS IN PROGRESS AND DURING TEST AND EVALUATION, ENSURES COMPLIANCE WITH REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
– Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: IDENTIFIES THE NEED FOR NEW SYSTEMS (OR MODIFICATIONS TO EXISTING SYSTEMS) OR RESPONDS TO REQUESTS FROM CUSTOMERS.
– Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: DIRECTS OPERATIONAL COORDINATION WITH THE APPROPRIATE OFFICIALS ENSURING SUPPORT FOR RELATIVE PROJECTS AND MAINTAINS OMNI-DIRECTIONAL CHANNELS OF COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE INDIVIDUAL PROJECT MANAGERS.
– Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: PROVIDES EXPERT ADVISE ON THE MANAGEMENT, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF COMPLEX COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS TO TRANSPORT VOICE, DATA AND VIDEO.

In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing oversight of Information Technology Communication services, project planning, training, AND resource management.

THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Sections 1643(a)(1) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 authorizes the Secretary of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to cyber workforce positions to carry out the responsibilities of the U.S. Cyber Command.
