System Administrator

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented System Administrator, to join our team in Hanover, MD.  The team delivers enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce performing a wide range of missions in defense of our Nation. This effort is the contract vehicle for the Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization overseeing MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT). EIT is MPO’s backbone- platform for all Enterprise users. Data Center & Compute Services is the EIS enabling organization working with customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and vendors to deliver select EIT.

Responsibilities Included but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for manually updating patches for 20+ standalone desktops/laptops that use Win10, Windows Server 2016 and Windows 11 through patches released through DOD Repository and up to IVAMs guidelines on LatteArt.  Will also be responsible for Windows Security Patches and Office patches.

  • Will track and record in Excel spreadsheet all updates that were installed and to which
    machines they were installed on.

  • Responsible for performing DTA abilities (including Virus Scanning) for patches to be moved from repository to standalone machines both High and Low Side machines.

  • Will perform Quarterly Login Audits on 50 + machines including older machines that use
    Windows XP and 2000 as well as 3 RedHat Linux Laptops.

  • Will run Compliance checks for the 20 + laptops/desktops, keep up to date Nessus Manager License yearly for compliance checks software, keep up to date and track Windows and Office license for machines on SSP and make/organize articles in shared drive articles for How to Steps, License activation logs, IVAM patches logs, License distribution logs, etc.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.  Five (5) years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

  • Shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. 

  • IAT I certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of start date. (Security +)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ​​Experience with Win 10 and Win 11 and general knowledge mostly how to update manually and how to create accounts on machines.

  • Experience with DTA

  • Experience with Excel

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph.     

Physical Requirements:  

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 70% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
