The scope of the IT GEMS contract includes a full range of information technology (IT) services which include necessary hardware, software, and ancillary, components to support enterprise-level programs and environments. Support service areas include program management support, policy, procedures, and operations support, IT core services support, security compliance, customer and client services support, transformational IT support, and application migration support..

HOW a Systems Administrator Advisor WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Leads the Server and System Administration team in providing subject matter expertise and system administration using our ITIL-based ITSM4Gov approach for over 2,000 enterprise servers. Responsible for maintaining system configurations and performing operations using privileged accounts, adhering to cybersecurity principles, separation of duties, least privilege, two-factor authentication, and role-based access policies.

Installs, supports, and maintains servers and appliances, including handling touch labor. Plans for and responds to server and service outages, incidents, and problems. Creates and maintains SOPs, TTPs, and KBAs in our ISO 9001:2015 QMS in SharePoint. Provides Tier II and Tier III support and troubleshoots and tracks issues to resolution. Performs backups, works with the Cybersecurity team to implement, and maintain cybersecurity preventive measures, including intrusion detection systems. Actively monitors and reports on health of supported servers and applications.

Supports the DevSecOps and Transformational IT teams in providing solutions, including scripting, for automation, capacity, redundancy, replication, and performance tuning. Develops and maintains process for issuing and securing userIDs, passwords, and security keys. Assists with physical tasks like server racking, power management, cabling, and decommissioning datacenters. Supports the Incident and Problem Management team by tracking and resolving incidents from identification to resolution. Assists the DR/COOP Lead in planning and testing disaster recovery and contingency actions.

Coordinates with the Configuration and Change Managers to ensure software versions align with approved baselines and DMDC's change management processes. Monitors and controls storage performance and reports on utilization. Assists the ITOPS Master Scheduler in maintaining the work breakdown structure (WBS) and IMS for infrastructure projects. Identifies and mitigates potential risks with server and system administration and implements contingency plans to address unplanned events or disruptions. As part of our CSI2 program, drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize IT services, processes, and infrastructure.

Produces the Quarterly Backup Test Report (Del 58). Verifies data restores for appliance, systems, and data backups every 180 days (Del 48). Creates Software Deployment Packages (Del 57) within ten business days of software being added to the DTL. Creates and submits Quarterly Backup Test Reports within 90 days of contract award and quarterly thereafter.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education:
    • 5 – 8 years of experience, BA/BS degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Required Technical Skills:
    • IAT II
    • CompTIA Security+
    • IBM Certified System Administrator or equivalent
  • Security Clearance Level:
    • Active DOD Secret
  • Location:

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $120,000 – $180,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
