Role/Department Description:
The Business Analyst will work as the liaison between FactSet’s business units and our Information Systems teams. You will focus on handling issues and special assignments related to FactSet Software Development Lifecycle processes. Business process improvements, system enhancements, and issue resolution are key responsibilities of the Business Analyst. You may provide analyst support to Operations related projects/initiatives.

Within the first six (6) to twelve (12) months, the person in this position is expected to:

Understand systems, processes and the impact to the projects and business objectives

Handle multiple concurrent assignments with varying priorities and adjust work accordingly to meet deadlines.

Conduct research and analysis to quantify business opportunities and issues. Serves as a subject matter expert associated with content, processes, and procedures

Analyze and evaluate business needs and provides technical direction and recommendations to create or develop new functionality

Responsibilities:

Assist in defining, analyzing, and evaluating system requirements to meet business and user needs.

Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing systems

Prepare business requirements specifications; document business practices, workflows, feasibility studies, cost projections and business needs

Ability to build detailed data mapping documents

Work with business unit to address opportunities for improvements in processes and to mitigate issues as they arise between business units.

Facilitate transfers of information and problem resolution between business units. Provides information and documentation as necessary.

Management of small projects and special assignments. This includes both leading as well as providing support for operations initiatives.

Plan, direct and coordinate task related activities to ensure that tasks are accomplished within the prescribed period and budget parameters

Lead support for the business in running User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Use a structured requirements process to assess near-term and long-term needs

Ensure change management and communication of change is done in a systematic way for projects where initial requirements may evolve during the lifecycle of the project

Develop relationships with the internal customer by being proactive, displays a thorough understanding of their business, and provides innovative business solutions

Develop formal recommendations for presentation to management that may impact business policies

Contribute and develop Knowledge Management & Best Practice function

Job Requirements


At least 5 years of work experience, particularly process management experience

Ability to learn and apply leading methods, and associated tools & techniques

Strong detailed analysis skills

Strong problem solving skills

Skilled in MS Office, PowerPoint, Visio, etc. in order to be able to create meaningful Management Information, process maps, reports, etc.

Solid understanding of requirements traceability

Good experience in process identification, definition and mapping

Ability to identify process improvement opportunities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong communication skills – written and verbal

Exceptional people skills – Ability to build strong relationships and work with people at all levels to solve problems and overcome obstacles

Work efficiently and effectively to meet desired deadlines

Experience with Enterprise Software SaaS solutions like Salesforce and Workday is preferred

Experience using JIRA or other agile development tools is preferred

Experience using a PPM tool such as Planview is a plus

Experience using other ticketing systems (e.g., Service Now) is a plus

Experience using collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, etc.) is a plus
