The Systems Engineer role will manage, support, and maintain several aspects of the organization’s IT Infrastructure including Windows servers (including Active Directory/Exchange//DNS/DHCP, etc.), VMware, storage, communication, systems management platforms, and related environments. Working in concert with other System Engineers, Network Engineers, Helpdesk, and Business Application Support staff, this individual will have significant responsibilities and report to the Manager of IT Infrastructure.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Management of Active Directory and Exchange environments including monitoring the system response time, server health, Backup and Restore, and Disaster Recovery.
*Ensure the reliability, performance, security, and high availability of the messaging services including spam and content filtering.
*Write automation programs in PowerShell; follow up on failures in the product by debugging/investigating them.
*Setup and Configure Windows/Linux servers both physical and virtual.
*Management of backup systems infrastructure.
*Escalation point for high priority and 3rd level technical support as needed.
*Installs and deploys Active Directory services, performs system upgrades and patching, including recommendations for system improvements, and ensures the integrity of systems in accordance with industry best practices. Provide daily support and technical issue resolution primarily via e-mail and Ticketing Tools.
*Support DNS, DHCP, GPOs, and other related services/systems.
*Support O365, Intune, Azure, AWS, and other platforms.
*Apply system patches, Service packs, and perform system maintenance on servers.
*Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation.
*Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and response.
*Create and maintain new and existing baseline build guides, technical drawings & schematics, infrastructure documentation, change requests, and test plans.
