Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in managing IT infrastructure, troubleshooting, and process improvement. You’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining the performance and reliability of our core platforms and systems, including Microsoft 365 services, Active Directory, and cloud platforms.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Active Directory & Microsoft 365 Administration: Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
  • Systems Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as a point of escalation for complex system and cloud issues. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve problems across the IT infrastructure environments.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and automation using scripting (e.g., PowerShell) and other tools to streamline operations, reduce downtime, and enhance system performance.
  • Cloud Infrastructure & Tools: Administer and support cloud environments, particularly with Azure or AWS. Leverage cloud tools to monitor and manage infrastructure, ensuring cost-efficiency and scalability.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Work closely with DevOps teams to support the CI/CD pipeline and ensure smooth integration and delivery of code from development to production environments.
  • Observability & Monitoring Tools: Implement and maintain observability tools to monitor system health and performance. Utilize these tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact production.
  • Operationalize Work Before Production: Partner with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure all systems are thoroughly tested, documented, and ready for deployment in production environments. Ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place and followed for any production releases.
  • IT Audit and Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal and external IT audit requirements, supporting security and regulatory standards. Assist in remediation of audit findings and maintain compliance documentation

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related study or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar IT operations role.
  • Strong experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, and Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams).
  • Expertise in scripting for automation (PowerShell or equivalent).
  • Experience with cloud environments (Azure or AWS) and tools for cloud infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and supporting tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Proficiency in observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Azure Monitor, Dynatrace or similar).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing.
  • Experience in operationalizing workloads before production release, ensuring smooth deployment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to problem-solving.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 4-year college degree preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Minimal
