Position Description

Looking for a professional role at a place you can have influence every day? In the role of the System Engineer, you will be a part of a dynamic team supporting the Navy's premier shipbuilding. In this role, you will:

Assist with US Navy shipboard operations, particularly AEGIS Combat and C4I systems supporting Strike Group operations and Integrated Air and Missile Defense missions.

  • Attend C4I Participating Acquisition Resource Managers (PARMs) reviews and interface with multiple working groups.
  • Review Combat Systems initial designs, developments, and analysis of new ships and/or ship systems.
  • Travel underway for Acceptance Trials (AT) and Final Contract Trials (FCT), verifying combat systems and C4I tests coordination and test to meet the required specifications.
  • Provide written reports with known C4I and combat system discrepancies and assist in coordinating the effort to resolve the issues.
  • Assist with providing support, and analysis for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) Systems by assisting in the coordination of Combat Systems specific events and tests.
  • Compile and analyze reports related to shipboard inspections, certifications, assessments, and sea trials.
  • Provide support in Post Delivery Availabilities (PDA) and Post Sailaway Availabilities (PSA) conducting ship checks, verifying installations, and ensuring required installations being schedule.
  • Participate in pre-trial briefings and interfaces with the crew and shipbuilder on C4I.
  • Interface with multiple stakeholders and cross functional teams to ensure necessary resources are available for implementing and sustaining ship C4I systems.
  • Participate in Combat Systems and C4I technical, configuration management and logistics (Design Reviews, Technical Data Packages, Change Boards, AEGIS Topside Working Group, etc.) meetings.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current or active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Two to four years' experience.
  • Experience developing formal presentations using MS Office products.
  • The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Experience serving aboard AEGIS combatants in a technical management role. Warfare centers, training centers, testing facilities, or MDA experience.
  • Knowledge of the DDG 51 Shipbuilding Program.
  • The ability to write clear and concise technical correspondence to document technical reviews, collating stakeholder comments, and providing technical recommendation.
