Leidos is hiring a Systems Engineer to support the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) on-site in Suitland, MD. 

In this role you will provide operations, engineering, and technical services to support the ONI Command Information Office (CIO) with the mission to deploy and operate systems, networks, communications systems, and cybersecurity capabilities.  You will support the enterprise access to Managed Attribution (MA) specialized network enclave with two functional customer systems.

You will be working with a team of forward thinking, innovative, and highly motivated IT professionals and Security Engineers dedicated to implementing and leveraging the latest technologies to secure, protect, assess, and monitor fielded IT capabilities against a full range of internal and external threats.

An active DoD TS/SCI security clearance is a firm requirement. All work is required to be performed onsite.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform system administration and engineering tasks to include account management, application and update of STIGs, OS and application patching and management for VMware ESXi, Windows 10 and Server 2016, CentOS 7x Linux and the various appliances and applications.
  • Coordinate the installation, modification and implementation of all server/system software and related software tools with the government, other data processing staff and business system owners.
  • Work across IT functional boundaries with configuration, initial installation and upgrade, device management rendering performance and reliability recommendations, as well as providing recommendations to better enhance overall computing environment of the Enclave.
  • Maintain configuration management documentation on all production applications to include but not limited to administration support, performance, backup and recovery, security, and configuration management (to include but not limited to creating accounts, password resets, and documenting said lists according customer direction or SOP).
  • Respond to monthly security scans and weekly security checks as identified by existing and developing ATOs. Document and ensure that all systems are kept in compliance to current security policies, DISA STIGs and ACAS vulnerabilities.
  • Research, document and recommend innovative, and where possible automated or other approaches (including cloud-based technologies) for application operation and maintenance tasks. Identify approaches that leverage existing resources and provide economies of scale along with provide recommendations regarding the migration and upgrade paths for applications into cloud-based environments.

Clearance Required:

  • Active DOD TS/SCI Clearance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of related work experience or a Master’s degree and 6+ years of related work experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Active IAT Level II DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification or higher.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in engineering, testing, configuration/tuning, administration and operational use of vulnerability management and assessment technologies such as McAfee/Trellix ePO, and Security Information and Event Management systems (i.e., Splunk)
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows, Linux Servers, Virtual Expertise Instances (VMware ESXi), cloud services and desktop support.
  • Demonstrated experience with RSA Authentication Manager, RSA Security and RSA Operations management console.
  • 6+ years of professional experience applying routine security and Hotfix patches for Operating Systems and 3rd party software.
  • Familiar with the RMF Framework processes and Security measures in support of ATOs and ASR. Able to support the ISSO in Applying STIGS and STIG updates routinely to support ONI security requirements.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 – $189,175.00
