Systems Engineer II – WiFi Operations

The Systems / Wireless Engineer II will be primarily responsible for Wireless Support function within a national scope wireless broadband network environment.


  • Focus on improving our customer’s service experience in assessing and resolving impairments.
  • Apply fundamental knowledge of wireless core, wireless access, infrastructure systems and IP routing coupled with problem solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve service impairments.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams and third parties to restore service availability.
  • Aggressively pursue high standards of wireless network performance and availability.
  • Create detailed documentation and contribute to the development of processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • BS/BA/AAS degree (STEM) or a minimum of two (2) years of experience in Network Engineering or Telecom technical support role.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with knowledge of IP routing, and routing protocols such as BGP, ISIS, and OSPF.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with successful problem solving and troubleshooting in a technical support environment, leveraging packet analysis tools and/or network analytics platforms.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in use of troubleshooting and support tools such as [Wireshark, Splunk, CA Spectrum, Remedy, Jira]
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience of demonstrated knowledge of Wi-Fi systems, components, and specific industry solutions.


  • Experience operating carrier grade Wi-Fi services [Controllers, Gateways, AAA, Switches, AP’s] on [Ruckus / Cisco / Nokia] equipment.
  • Experience supporting Managed Wi-Fi environments: Venues, MDU’s, and Hospitality
  • Experience with large distributed networks, managed Wi-Fi services, and mobile operator topologies.
  • CCNA / CCNP Wireless
  • CWNA Certified Wireless Network Administrator
  • WCNA Wireshark
  • Ruckus Wise Smartzone SE
