This is a 30 hour work week
Pay rate is 40.00 per hour with Experis benefits
Contractor must have cell phone and access to reliable high-speed internet.
Client will provide a laptop and appropriate software.

  • Working in Confluence, Knowledge Base (creating/editing content/pages)
  • Information gathering or information requirements, meetings with stakeholders, know what questions to ask the stakeholders in meetings, building process maps, etc.
  • Attention to detail in technical editing and writing with a focus on documenting operational processes and procedures for staff consumption.

IT Systems That Will Be Used: Confluence, Jira, Asana, Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint), Salesforce, Oracle/PeopleSoft.
Training will be provided for any systems that will be used, though some experience with Confluence Cloud would be ideal.

Department: Strategic Operations
This role is vital to ensuring that critical Knowledge Base content for staff is created, edited, and updated regularly and according to process or policy changes that provide staff with access to resources to help them in their daily roles.
Additionally, anticipating a migration from Confluence Data Center to Confluence Cloud which will result in vast changes to how our current content appears and is laid out.
This resource will ensure that the migration happens smoothly while coordinating and managing the associated Technical Writing and Editing efforts of content that is critical to the success of staff.
Lastly, the resource will be working with our Contract Management and Operations teams to address documentation and build out of SOPs and other related processes in our Knowledge Base.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience in technical editing and writing with a focus on documenting operational processes and procedures for staff consumption. Experience with Confluence preferred.
  • Mastery of Technical Writing & Editing.
  • Meeting Coordination/Facilitation, Project & Time Management, Strong written and verbal communication in the English Language.
  • A penchant for mastering and understanding processorial details for the purpose of simplifying content for others.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability, resourcefulness, adaptability, for surfacing value and pragmatic solutions.
  • Ability to learn quickly, process information, and apply reference knowledge in diverse situations.
  • Coaching others to proficiency in Technical Writing & Editing.
  • Candidate should also have some experience coaching training specialists or interns in skills and tactics to write more effective guidance documentation and scripts for learning and development projects.
  • Skilled in managing multiple, diverse activities simultaneously, delivering on commitments, and operating with speed, accuracy, and strong judgement.
  • Has demonstrated ability to produce technical writing and editing duties in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates the capability to manage all aspects of on-going projects with no supervision. Is able to prioritize workload with other responsibilities. Demonstrates strategic thinking connected to the organization’s goals.
  • Natural Curiosity and passion for learning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, english, or journalism is ideal but would also consider those with a Bachelor’s in IT if their IT background was focused in Technical Writing.

Responsibilities:
Candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to: reviewing written content by other members of the team and provide coaching where necessary to continuously build team writing skills, partnering with internal SMEs to document SOPs and critical processes for build out and/or migration of content in our Knowledge Base, supporting administration of content management in our Knowledge Base, updating existing knowledge base content using technical writing and editing skills where appropriate, and partnering with team members to develop comprehensive written materials in support of training requirements throughout the Authority. Daily duties include:

  • Coordinate and Facilitate SOP/Process documentation meetings with SMEs.
  • Convert/Migrate SOPs/Processes to Knowledge Base.
  • Partner with other team members and coach to writing skills and techniques.
  • Evaluate existing content in Knowledge Base to identify for areas for improvement.
  • Provide substantive feedback on written content produced by team.
  • Manage Knowledge Base Contract Management and Data Solutions content updates.
  • Manage other projects/tasks with technical writing and editing components as needed.
