We are looking for a Database Administrator for our Information Technology (IT) team to help manage approximately 50 databases of multiple types: vendor provided (where you will work with vendors to resolve issues), custom (where you will write, run, and debug procedures), and utility. In this role you will perform analyses of our databases, provide performance monitoring/tuning, and do data modeling, optimization, reorganizations and schema implementations. You will practice and enforce data-related standards and procedures to ensure the consistency of design, accuracy, availability, performance, and proper use of organizational databases. You will provide advanced-level support to our Business Analysts for SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reporting and data-related troubleshooting requests. You will assist our Developers in advanced database design, stored procedure & function creation, data migration, application deployment and SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) packages. You will document organizational databases, specifically the relationship between existing and new databases, which is a critical part of the organization’s Data Warehousing/Executive Portal system project initiative. Activities will also include interpreting and writing complex SQL queries to assist with problem diagnosis, strategic planning, and the management of the database and transaction processing environment. You will participate in planning meetings with our Developers, business units and Business Analysts to help design databases that fit organizational needs.
We need someone with a successful track record in relational database design and management, with strong organizational and decision-making skills, and strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical forums.
Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
· Three years of database management experience with Microsoft SQL 2008/2012.
· One year of experience in relational database design and management; three or more years preferred.
· Moderate to advanced knowledge of Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
STARTING SALARY: $60,000 to $90,000 depending on experience.
