TESLA, INC. has the following position available at its corporate headquarters in Palo Alto, CA:
Mechanical Design Engineer, CAE NVH. Analyze, simulate, and develop tools for the NVH team. Build models of physical phenomena to better understand vehicle acoustic performance. Post-process, analyze, and interpret data from Tesla sources (e.g., manufacturing processes, production audit data) for the purpose of informing engineering teams on NVH performance. Understand fundamental mechanical engineering principles, focusing in the fields of structural vibration and acoustics. Demonstrate skill in computational mechanics and build mathematical models of complex phenomena. Understand and interpret acoustic and vibration test data for the purpose of comparing to model results.
Requirements: Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related. Academic background, internship or work experience to include: Knowledge of noise and vibration fundamentals; Vibration or acoustic simulation and modeling tools; Experience in at least two (2) of the following analysis methodologies: modal, operating deflection shape, transfer path, finite element, or forced response; Graduate coursework in at least two (2) of the following areas: mechanical vibrations, advanced dynamics, nonlinear mechanics, acoustics, digital signal processing, or finite element analysis; Programing languages: Matlab, Python, R, or C/C++; and Mechanical engineering principles. Successful completion of reference and background checks is required.
Wage: $107,120.00/ yr. (8am-5pm, Mon-Fri)
