Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer to support the Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC) at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. This position will provide essential testing support for the design, development, and testing of hardware for use on exploration missions and the International Space Station (ISS).
The Test Engineer will provide test engineering services for product development and certification efforts across various projects. The successful candidate will assist a larger project team by receiving task direction from senior project/test engineers or project managers. This position will support the design life cycle of the project from understanding testing requirements to developing test plans that meet those requirements. The candidate will design tests and test fixtures, write test plans and procedures, conduct Test Readiness Reviews, operate hardware during tests, collect and interpret data, and write comprehensive test reports.
Awareness of the Flight Hardware Development processes as outlined in SA-WI-014 and EA-023 are considered a strength with the expectation that the candidate will become well versed as the solutions are developed. The successful candidate will interface with Project Management, System Engineering, Quality Engineering and Assurance, Design and Development, Technical Staff, Logistics, and the NASA customer.
US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to successful obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance are required.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop test strategies, plans, setups, and procedures using project requirement and verification documents.

Maintain safety records and certifications.

Collaborate with project management, customers, and other stakeholders to establish test schedules and execute development and certification testing events.

Coordinate with service providers and schedule test facilities as needed.

Conduct functional, development, certification, acceptance, and integration testing of hardware at various stages of the project life cycles.

Correlate test results and complete data analysis in test report format.

Provide hardware support and technical knowledge during integrated hardware/software testing.

Process hardware at Johnson Space Center.

Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings.

Work closely with the customer and project team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical) and 3+ years of related experience

Experience performing testing in a lab environment

Familiarity with JSC projects and test facilities

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with SolidWorks

Pay Range:
Pay Range $65,000.00 – $117,500.00
