Performs engineering design and analyses work and provides engineering support in developing/evaluating specific research areas associated with evolving security technologies. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level engineer. Assists in the preparation of technical plans, reports, and technology studies; reviews and comments on past and present work related to specific research areas; prepares briefing material on ongoing activities; attends meetings with customer and other relevant contractor personnel in order to better understand engineering issues related to transportation security.
