Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Vocational Rehabilitation Placement Specialist.

In this role, the successful candidate Provides vocational rehabilitation and support for job placement services for individuals with physical, neurological and psychiatric disabilities, under supervision. Identifies, develops, and maintaining relationships with employers available to our placement clients using their interests, experiences and their ambitions for successful placement.

Job Responsibilities:

    •  
    • Establishes a rapport with the patient and explains the role of the job development component of the program. Develops a supportive relationship with the patient. Demonstrates sensitivity to changes in patient status and modifies approach accordingly. Takes initiative in identifying problems and developing intervention strategies.
    • Schedule and conduct daily prospecting, cold calls and face to face meetings.
    • Collaborate with the Placement Counseling staff to clarify patients’ needs and work setting that matches client needs.
    • Develop network connections with business and community leaders in assigned areas to promote disability employment and specific individuals presented to employer.
    • Develop & consistently use a system to track business/job development activities/contacts to further develop partnerships in communities.
    • Develops and maintains an employer network. Initiates employer contacts and markets program and candidates. Develops and follows-up on job leads. Attends Placement Consortium meetings. Performs job market research and surveys new employers in growth industries.
    • Lead and organize the Business Advisory Committee. Maintain and recruit membership
    • Work with assigned individuals to prepare them for employment. This would involve both individual work and group activities.
    • Support placement teams expected monthly placement goal of a minimum of 5 clients a month. Maintain Placement capacity compliance reports and provides to Director monthly.
    • Coordinate the hiring process for assigned individuals. This includes job search, and coordination of application, interview, hiring, and onboarding activities.
    • Documents all services and completes all program reports using clear, concise narrative following prescribed protocol and within established timeframes. Insures case notes reflect patient status and progress toward goals. Enters all reports and progress notes in Epic. Educate employers on relevant program incentives and supports such as tax credits, ADA issues, job modifications etc.
    • Assist with follow up of job retention and additional supports needed to successfully secure placement.
    • Prepare and deliver marketing presentations as needed.
    • Demonstrates continued proficiency in skills required to manage assigned patient population.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree plus 2 years experience marketing/sales./related experience or Associate degree with 5 years experience. Strong presentation and networking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in rehabilitation or related field preferred. Two years experience providing direct job placement services to individuals with disabilities.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $49,920 – $52,000 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
