Job Purpose: Ensure the web application is delivered with the performance and flexibility required for the Company to meet its goals. Provide an architecture that aligns with the current and future needs of the company.

Results Expected and Duties Performed
Provide support for the Company’s web applications by monitoring and fixing all software issues; monitoring the daily output performance of programs; resolving all web issues that agents may have when quoting Gainsco Insurance; resolving internal Work Orders as reported to the Help Desk by the business units. Design/Documentation: multitude of systems and integration points with other internal systems and 3rd party systems. Design efficient, redundant, and fault tolerant communications between the systems and provide excellent documentation and KB articles to help examine/explain the design in a group setting and delegate responsibilities clearly.
Implement new features by developing all software code changes to the Gainscoconnect Web applications per business needs. Write re-usable framework code and address existing architectural short comings with existing critical systems. Hands on work will be in assisting junior and other senior level developers with current projects.
Project Management: Successful projects take coordination with multiple departments and key business players. Taking initiative, scheduling meetings, and educating others and setting appropriate expectations are a must. Architecture and Code Reviews Design and maintain the architecture of the system develop coding standards and ensure proper implementation through code reviews. Mentor Web Developers by teaching and guiding other co-workers on the best practices and techniques in order to advance them technically. Prepare code for testing by performing preliminary quality assurance checks before being sent to the actual Quality Assurance Department for a second round of testing before being sent into production.

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
REQUIRED: Design/Architecture experience
Experience: 6-10 years of solid technical experience; insurance background
Web programming fundamentals
WebForms (2-3 years)
MVC project types (2-3 years)
Entity Framework (2-3 years)
Fluent API (configuration / validation)
Code First versus Model First design decisions and the pros and cons
Unity or other similar IOC container and implementation knowledge
SOLID design principles
TDD and BDD concepts
Experience with publishing to Azure is a plus
Experience with Angular is a plus
Skills and Abilities: The ability to handle complex problems effectively, separating
complex issues and generating multiple solutions; Strong written and oral
communication skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to effectively
prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment; experience working in a
collaborative team environment.
Other: Requires Hands on knowledge of C#, ******* MVC, ******* Web Forms, TSQL, DB2, IIS, HTML(5), JQuery, LINQ, XML, BizTalk (a plus), Cryptography, Message Queues.
