Provide management oversight and apply technical expertise to software development and sustainment of UAS systems, subsystems, and components. Manage cost, schedule, and performance of contractor developed software baselines and modifications. Monitor problem change requests, assign priorities for resolution, and plan, coordinate, and execute changes to address interoperability issues. Author performance work statements for competitive software development task orders. Evaluate software architecture, development, and modification approaches for UAS and make recommendations to the technical chief regarding best the technical approach to support P3I and sustainment. Communicate directly with contractors, engineers, the logistician, program managers, and business team members to provide coordinated direction and taskings. Provide concise reports to management on status, potential issues, and risks and participate in the development of contingency plans.
-15+ years of experience with software, including the software industry
-Experience with DoD program management, including PEO AVN
-Experience with aviation, including unmanned aircraft
-Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
-Ability to develop and provide reports to management
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree in Engineering or CS required
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Secret clearance preferred
