The Outdoor Products Apparel and Accessory Designer/Developer supports the Outdoor Products team by providing and maintaining product designs and documentation that are functional, on brand and on trend while adhering to Browning's legacy of quality and innovation.

Requirements

Owning the product documentation process. Creating, updating and maintaining product tech packs.

Coordinating with shareholders to guide product design through the development process from concept to production.

Managing each project to ensure final products are produced to the best possible quality.

Initiating the development process with target pricing in mind and maintaining the ability to negotiate with suppliers. Focus on enhancing profit margins through efficient product development processes.

Developing, managing and maintaining fabric and material libraries. Understanding material costing and impacts of material choice on consumer preference and manufacturing.

Creating, manipulating and modifying technical drawings using Adobe suite, or other platforms as required by the business.

Ownership of apparel fit standards and process.

Project and time management: Focuses each project on high quality and margin health. allocates time and resources effectively and coordinates efforts with all affected parties; keeps all parties informed of progress and all relevant changes to project timeline.

Conceptual Thinking: Ability to explore and manipulate ideas beyond concrete constraints; Can imagine novel and hypothetical situations in detail; Reframes problems.

Attention to Detail: Able to 'zoom in' to detail quickly and accurately; Checks information, picks up inconsistencies and mistakes; Can make detailed comparisons between similar sources.

Initiative: Identifies ways to improve processes/situations; Takes responsibility for improvements or solving problems; Sets own standards above prevailing standards, shows dissatisfaction with substandard or inefficient activities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or similar degree; and/or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc…) and Adobe Suite (Photo Shop, Illustrator, In-Design) a plus.

SCHEDULE AND TRAVEL

This position is an exempt position that can involve communication with team members and/or factories outside of an 8a-5p window, particularly during seasonal production periods. Periodic state side and international travel may be required.
