JOB SUMMARY

Program, operate, and maintain the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Atos Blue Light and other metrology tools to ensure an accurate casting measurement inspection for internal and external customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

• Develop and implement CMM/Blue Light programs at the request of engineers and need for product development.
• Interpret product drawings and models to achieve a proper and accurate measurement inspection process.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot programs for the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Atos Blue Light Machines.
• Complete first article inspection reports (FAIRs), delta FAIRs, and measurement studies as required using various metrology tools.
• Perform production inspections for engineer inquiries and quality assurance.
• Supply and interpret CMM/Blue Light inspection data in various formats using computer aided design (CAD), Microsoft Office, AS9102 protocol, and customer specific systems.
• Organize measurement data into reports to be interpreted by internal and external customers.
• File and save data into a secure and appropriate network location.
• Perform and document preventative and corrective maintenance on measurement machines and tools.
• Interact with Team Leaders, Engineers, Manufacturing Managers, and external customers regarding measurement inspection matters.
• Assist in the calibration of gages and tools.
• Comply with and support AS9100 and Nadcap certification standards as well as customer specific standards.
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Adhere to and enforce proper safety/security procedures and protocol.
• Maintain CMM/Blue Lights- calibration, maintenance, general functioning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate degree or equivalent from a college or technical school.

Previous Experience:

• 3-5 years manufacturing experience.
• 5-8 years as a Layout/CMM/BL Programmer.
• Blade analysis software knowledge.
• LK-DMIS, LK/Nikon CAMIO (or relevant work) Unigraphics/Polyworks a plus.
• SolidWorks and/or NX CAD experience.
• 3D dimensional/spatial reasoning.

Certifications/Licenses: None

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Read. Write. General knowledge of the casting process. Knowledge of Dimensional Measuring Interface Standards (DMIS), CAD (NX Platform), SolidWorks or similar modeling software and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of measurement tools and machines, including their uses, repair, and maintenance. Problem-solving skills. Basic analytical skills. Good verbal communication skills. Detail oriented. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
 

• Working Environment: Office Environment
• Physical Demands: Sitting/Standing for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 20lbs, extended periods of time using a computer screen.
• Travel Requirements: 5-10%
• Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
• Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
• Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
