Electrical Safety Engineer – Data Center
Our client, a global leader in cloud computing and data center infrastructure, is seeking an Electrical Energy Isolation Engineer to join their team. As an Electrical Energy Isolation Engineer, you will be part of the Data Center Operations & Construction team supporting commissioning, construction, and safety teams. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive safety mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Electrical Energy Isolation Engineer (1-year contract)
Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Pay Range: $83.14 – $89.54 hourly
What’s the Job?
- Oversee and ensure compliance of the energy isolation (Lock Out/Tag Out) program across construction and commissioning activities
- Coordinate with General Contractors and trades to enforce safe work practices and Microsoft safety policies
- Review safety documentation including permits, procedures, and job hazard analyses to ensure safe working conditions
- Support commissioning and validation of MEP systems, ensuring proper energization and zero-energy states
- Audit and monitor electrical and mechanical systems across data center infrastructure to maintain operational safety
What’s Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Master Electrician License, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in industrial/commercial electrical field engineering (mission critical/data centers preferred)
- 3+ years of experience with electrical safety programs aligned with NFPA70E, NEC, and OSHA
- Strong expertise in Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), electrical drawing review, and MOPs
- Experience working in commercial construction environments with MEP systems and electrical infrastructure
