Symbotic is seeking a Principal Software Engineer on the Applications-Workstations team to collaborate with front-end developers, UX designers and other development teams. As a key member of the team, y ou will be responsible for the Control Center application which provides a real-time view of the fleet of mobile robots, lifts, cases, and hardware. You will lead the team's delivery of features and be involved with technical designs, architecture, and discussions .

We are a talented team of software engineers that develop user-friendly front-end software applications responsible for orchestrating inventory into the Symbotic system, order fulfillment out to customers, managing a fleet of autonomous robots and lift hardware, and much more. Our team 's applications handle large volumes of real-time data from many components and display to users for system monitoring and promptly executing remedial actions. We are self-driven software engineers who thrive in a creative, collaborative and agile development environment with a passion for implementing an excellent user experience.

What y ou'll d o

  • Design and develop real-time distributed software to orchestrate the induction of new inventory and order fulfillment to customers.
  • Design, implement, and enhance applications that span desktop, mobile and web technology stacks utilizing the following technologies: C# .NET, WPF, XAML, RabbitMQ, SQL , Kubernetes , Kafka .
  • Contribute to a distributed architecture using multi-threaded and multi-processor concepts on multi-window applications .
  • Play a leading hands-on role as part of an engineering team that works to design, develop, review and test new functionality.
  • Collaborate with other development teams, UX team, project managers, and product managers to break down problems, design solutions and execute on new business requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

What y ou'll n eed

  • Degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or related experience.
  • 12+ years professional experience developing front-end software applications.
  • 6+ years professional experience developing with C# .NET and WPF / XAML.
  • 2+ years of experience with data/SQL platforms including traditional relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Experience leading or managing other developers.
  • Object oriented design and program m ing concepts.
  • Source code version control, unit testing, design and defect tracking tools.
  • Experience with multi-threading, multiprocessing, and SW/HW integration.
  • Self -motivated, with an ability to learn quickly and independently, and work in a dynamic agile environment with cross functional and remote teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Our Environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required . Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi-weekly.
