Our work depends on a Python/R Data Analyst joining our team to remotely support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) activities for the Premium Stabilization Program (PSP). Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

At GDIT, our people are at the center of everything we do. As a Python/R Data Analyst supporting CMS, a typical day will include:

  • Writing Python code to perform in-depth data analysis,

  • Conducting analysis of data related to PSP business areas,

  • Document and communicate reporting requirements, rules and methodologies for data collection and analysis,

  • Reviewing and analyzing collected data to determine the performance and health of a system or network,

  • Recommending changes to the overall system or network to ensure service to the customer,

  • Assembling, preparing, and analyzing data for system requirements and other needs,

  • Presenting data in briefing and other formats to internal teams and CMS,

  • Providing input or preparing technical reports/briefings based on the expert interpretation of analyzed data,

  • Participating in meetings to provide assistance with technical inquiries related to system implementations, as needed.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree + 12 years related experience.

  • 5+ years of experience developing Python or R code.

  • 3+ years of experience working with data and completing data analysis activities.

  • Proficient using MS Excel and Access.

  • Experience designing and building reports.

  • Competent using MS Word and PowerPoint.

  • Exposure to JavaScript.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

  • Candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hands-on Tableau experience.

  • Salesforce and Salesforce Visual Force experience.

  • Experience with preparing data files using Excel to load with Apex Data Loader.

  • Healthcare Service Industry or Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) experience.

  • Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.

  • High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large scale databases.

  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.

  • Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.

  • Ability to manage time effectively, to work under time pressure, to meet schedules and deadlines, to multi-task, to plan, organize and prioritize work assignments and pay close attention to detail.

The likely salary range for this position is $106,371 – $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
