Quality Assurance Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

In this Quality Assurance Supervisor role, you will be an integral part of the Noble Supply & Logistics Quality team, responsible for conducting quality operational and regulatory oversight for compliance, identifying opportunities for improvement or corrective actions, and ensuring contractual performance expectations are met. Reviewing and determining daily priorities to the Quality Assurance Inspectors. Reviewing and determining daily/weekly productivity goals. This role requires that you submit weekly quality assurance reports and present consistent feedback to management regarding areas that necessitate improvement. These responsibilities will be discharged under the authority delegated by the Deputy Director of Quality.

Essential Functions Statements

  • Directly supervises employees in the Quality Assurance Department
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Support quality oversight and audit activities from government agencies such as the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and other government oversight agencies.
  • Coordinate all of Noble's mandatory DCMA QAR internal and external source inspection activities.
  • Maintain, coordination and oversight for contractual and regulatory compliance of all MILSPEC.
  • Inspect and approve incoming products and materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Collaborate and consult with other associated organizations and business units regarding current quality control issues and activities.
  • Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements in accordance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and Company Quality standards.
  • Knowledge and experience in GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Determine acceptance or rejection after inspecting parts. Identify causes of defective conditions and test failures and prepare all appropriate documentation.
  • Interpret specifications, records, charts, manuals, and other data to arrive at acceptance or rejection. Use mathematics to convert blueprint dimensions and tolerances. Work within the guidelines of drawings, blueprints, quality directives, technical engineering specifications, customer's requirements, and military standards.
  • Support internal quality audits for maintenance of Noble's quality certificate.
  • Support Noble's and government agency counterfeit product oversight.
  • Support quality oversight and audit activities from government agencies such as Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and other government oversight agencies.
  • Development of processes, procedures, and configuration/document control
  • Support root cause analysis, preventative, and corrective actions to reduce/eliminate non-conformances and dispositions.
  • Prepare and submit all reports required by the Deputy Director of Quality
  • Liaison, representative and delegate for Noble's Deputy Director of Quality for DCMA functional assignments
  • Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
  • Support continuous improvement of production and inspection processes by implementing Lean initiatives.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Technical/Vocational/Military/Corporate Quality Training or associate degree with equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in inspection methods and techniques and following relevant work instructions including First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with ISO 9100 and/or AS9100 series quality requirements
  • Work requires willingness to work various shifts and some overtime, when required.
  • Experience with procedures, work instructions, blueprint and technical documentation reading, and interpretation required.
  • Experience with MILSPEC and GSA shipping requirements and oversight.
  • Experience with HAZMAT, DOT, IATA compliance and regulatory compliance and oversight.
  • Experience with quality Corrective Action Processes.
  • Experience with the development of quality operational processes and procedures.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to press and analyze technical and business information.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with effective communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated.

Environmental conditions include the Job's normal exposure to weather, heat, cold, wet, height, fumes, electricity, or other adverse working conditions, and the typical noise level in the Distribution environment.
