We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Systems Engineer to collaborate on cutting-edge projects involving the US Navy's Aegis Destroyers, Carriers, and AEGIS Ashore systems. This is a hybrid position. Work will be performed onsite at the Washington Navy Yard, at the ManTech 80 M St. office, or remotely as the customer allows.

This position will support the Navy's AEGIS Combat Systems Acquisition and Development Program at the Washington Navy Yard. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Government program manager in analyzing proposed system changes and upgrades and advise in making program decisions.
  • Develop briefing materials, meeting agendas, minutes, and track resolution of action items.
  • Provide support on a wide range of activities and missions supporting Naval ship combat systems development and operation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An Associate's degree in a technical field and ten (10) years of U.S. Navy Combat Systems experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a technical field and five (5) years of relevant engineering experience in DoD systems architecture, design, development, and test and evaluation, concept definition, and detailed system design activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suites, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Excellent organizational, and written / verbal communication skills
  • Be forward thinking and proactive

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Navy AEGIS experience
  • Software development experience
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense contracting and financial reporting

Clearance Requirement:

  • An active Secret Security Clearance will be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.
