The AppWorks Portal team within the Wells Fargo Engineering Development Office (EDO) Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong JAVA and Spring Boot development skills to build custom applications that improve the quality, automation, and control of the Wells Fargo software development life cycle (SDLC). This position offers excellent growth opportunities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment for a highly-motivated, committed individual with a strong work-ethic.

In this position, you will work closely with multiple Lines of Business across the organization to understand existing SDLC practices and identify requirements, architecture, and design considerations that will feed into the technology solution which you will develop with the goal of improving transparency and efficiency to the enterprise SDLC. You will partner with development, quality engineering, build and release teams, as well as CIO and business owners to measure the effectiveness of their software development practices. The projects have aggressive timelines and the individual may be called upon to help production support teams to troubleshoot issues and would require the candidate to thrive under pressure.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be required to fulfill the following responsibilities:
Develop and deliver solutions to problems with the best technology available within the Wells Fargo framework, while maintaining on-time delivery and appropriate follow up
Lead complex development efforts with a strong track record of following Agile processes
Provide SME guidance for other teams as needed
Educate developer community on development best practices
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, evaluate and recommend go forward approaches, and research issues/concerns to identify root causes
analytical skills and knowledge of systems and processes to learn new systems, applications, processes and techniques, while understanding business needs from a variety of sources, asking detailed questions to gather information, identify possible solutions and explain both clearly in verbal and written communications
Document software changes, technical processes and procedures and develop recommendations to correct deficiencies and improve the technical processes
Handle support escalations. Troubleshoot developer issues in large range of technologies
Lead and mentor junior team members

Required Qualifications

7+ years of application development and implementation experience
7+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
7+ years of JavaEE experience
7+ years of Java experience
4+ years of experience with Spring, Spring Batch, and Spring Boot
4+ years of Spring experience
4+ years of Agile experience
2+ years of SQL experience
2+ years of experience developing and using RESTful Application Program Interface (API)

Desired Qualifications

Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Banking industry experience
Experience designing, developing, and implemeting large scale, complex software applications
Ability to provide leadership to a technology team
Ability to research, design, implement, and test industry best practices
Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles
ANT or Maven experience
Git or GitHub experience
Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
Ability to consult at the highest technical level on design: planning, integration, implementation, scalability, and problem definition
Ability to take an active role in the education, mentoring and training of less experienced team members
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Process definition and documentation experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other Desired Qualifications

2+ years of experience with Java 8 is required
2+ years of experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Experience with one or more of the following tools: Gradle, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, Artifactory
Experience with one or more of the following databases: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB
Experience with Angular is preferred
