The Senior Java Developer will write and maintain source code, create and maintain software applications, and apply frameworks involved in a software release of the Navy’s Risk Management Information (RMI) requirement integration into the Air Force Safety Automated System (AFSAS).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)
Defines site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality
Supports the deployment of new technical solutions, products, andor standards in support of functions, strategy, and operations under limited supervision, and provides guidance to more junior members of the team
Perform duties of computer programming, documenting, managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in a software release life cycle and resulting in a software product
Designs and implement a variety of user interfaces
Develops using with HTML5, CSS, jQuery, Hibernate, MongoDB, and NoSQL
Supports development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities, contributing to team meetings, and troubleshooting developmentproduction problems across multiple environments and operating platforms
Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools
Performs QA for pre-deployment activities
Utilizes Agile development methodologies
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline or 7 years of experience
3 years of experience with SQL
Experience with Web application development and object-oriented programming
Experience with Struts 1, Velocity, Angular JS, Oracle 12, bootstrap, COGNOS, Informatica, and Apache Subversion
Public Trust clearance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong working experience in all phases of the SDLC and EW data analysislibrary products to support automated tool development is strongly preferred
Knowledge of the Air Force Safety Automated System (AFSAS) preferred
Ability to use version control and collaborative tools
Must be capable of quickly learning new systems and associated software applications for proficient execution of tasks
Must be capable of managing multiple projects with time related constraints in a fast- paced contract manufacturing environment
Must be able to speak effectively before groups of internal andor external customers or employees
Must be well organized and an effective communicator
Ability to collaborate with diverse internalexternal stakeholder groups and individuals
Ability to grasp system concepts and communicate their applications
Ability to travel
