An employer in Downtown Houston, TX is looking for a Network Engineer to join their team. This person will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and performance of the client's network infrastructure and will be assisting with field site installations. Candidate must have previous hands on experience installing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing network hardware, software, and communication links. The day to day will include but not be limited to troubleshooting, maintenance, installing, and monitoring of routers and switches. This person will also be helping ensure all proper security protocols and enhancements are up to date. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication, a go getter attitude, and the ability to partner with different groups and individuals in a team environment.
CCNP Certification
Knowledge and/or experience working with IP Telephony
Previous experience working with wireless networks
F5 load balancer experience
Previous Oil & Gas industry experience
3-5 years of Network Engineering experience
Hands on experience working with routers and switches
Significant knowledge and hands on experience working with routing protocols and how to implement them, specifically Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
Strong understanding and experience supporting and troubleshooting LAN and WAN networks
Experience working with both Cisco and Juniper products
Bachelor's degree or a minimum of four years direct work experience in computer networking may be considered a substitute for a degree
