Analog Devices, Inc. is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Transceiver Group (TPG) in Somerset, NJ.

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be a critical member of the team. You will participate and add value in all phases of product development, actively participating in feasibility, requirement, architecture, design, implementation, integration, and verifications. You will be positioned within a multi-site development team and will be working closely with system, analog, digital, verification, and customer application teams to deliver embedded software as part of RFIC transceiver products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Design and write embedded software as per the requirements of our customer
Evaluate existing system and if necessary, interpret the requirements and changes that are needed
Review the implemented system, understand and interpret the error reports from internal staff and external clients, troubleshoot and debug them in the embedded environment and provide instant fixtures for the same
Maintain and document the software programs and resolutions given for the technical issues and any other relevant data that may be of importance
Interact effectively with the team members and contribute in increasing their knowledge and understanding their problems
Work in close association with the clients to understand their needs and to address the issues related to the process
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or similar field
A minimum 7 years of experience developing software in embedded multi-threaded environment including:
Working with embedded platforms & embedded software development paradigms
Working with embedded real-time operating systems
Hands on experience integrating, building, and testing of multi-thread based applications
In-depth knowledge of software development life cycle, software configuration management tools, and software release process
Experience with SCM tools (GIT, SVN, Clearcase, Perforce, etc.)
Experience with defect tracking tools (Jira, SVN, etc.)
Customer-facing experience is also desired, as this position may be dealing directly with customers and/or partners
Preferred Qualifications: (Includes Minimum)
MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or similar)
10 years of experience developing software in embedded multi-threaded environment
Strong working knowledge of a software development process (e.g. Agile, Waterfall)
Demonstrated knowledge of a scripting language (Python, Perl)
Demonstrated knowledge of RF systems
Demonstrated knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) and algorithm development
Demonstrated knowledge of 3GPP standards
Additional Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Strong C/C++ programming skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work in distributed development environment
Strong communication skills necessary in order to develop requirements and design documents
