This includes developing inspection instructions, equipment and gauge requirements, test requirements, documentation requirements, specification compliance requirements, configuration control requirements, flowcharts, first article criteria, and sampling plans as required. This planning must be developed concurrently with and must be fully integrated into the manufacturing plan. * Recognize and communicate quality considerations and risks associated with product design and production; facilitate mitigation of those risks to assure customer satisfaction. Lead and/or participate in related FMEA’s (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for product and process design. * As required, perform Product and Pre/Post Design Validations. *Qualifies components when required. * As required, investigates internal quality deficiencies and/or Customer Complaints *and perform RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action) to correct those deficiencies. Conduct studies to determine effectiveness of corrective actions taken. * In general support continuous process improvement efforts as a quality engineering resource. (Ex. Process Validations, Kaizen Events, API, * etc.) Able to make decisions on product acceptability. * Work closely with Engineering to develop, approve and maintain Vendor Assembly booklets used to effectively communicate technical requirements related to MAP procurement of critical purchased sub-components and/or finished goods. Conduct supplier site audits as required. * Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure effective corrective action is implemented. * Conduct Internal Quality Process & Product Audits. Assure all procedures are intelligible and adhere to ISO9001 compliance requirements. * As needed train and assist Quality Assurance Inspectors on new procedures and test methods. * Provide monthly analysis on return data and issue actions accordingly. * Provide surveillance, technical support and final product acceptance at vendors/sub-contractors. * Maintain good housekeeping practices and performs duties in safe and efficient manner so as not to inflict injury to self or others. * Inform area management of any hazardous situations in the work environment. * Keep the Manager of Quality Assurance informed and assist in his or her duties as needed. * Performs other similar and related duties as required.
