Associate Director – Solution Delivery Lead CRM/CMS (Salesforce/Veeva)

Job Description This role serves as an IT partner and strategic thought leader to our global functional leader and business teams across GTO, R&D and Corporate functions.

Biogen currently leverages the Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault, Salesforce Service Cloud and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) platforms, among other sales and marketing technologies. These systems were recently implemented as part of a global Commercial transformation program. Biogen now has the opportunity to leverage these new systems and the business capabilities they enable to continue the transformation and improvement of our global sales and multi-channel marketing operations, Patient Services, Medical and HR organizations.

The leader will need to be a visionary who understands the benefits of having one global toolset where data is integrated, aggregated and available to a wide range of business users in the field and on brand teams to make better customer-centric decisions and provide a superior level of service. As a leader in our global IT function, this Thought Leader will be the authority on visioning and delivering solutions on Veeva and ************** to GTO, Medical and HR operations. This includes managing and building a high performing team of Veeva and Salesforce architects and developers.

Key Responsibilities include:

Develop a strategy and long term roadmap for CRM, CMS and ********* by working with key stakeholders in the organization.

Partner with the Enterprise Architecture (EA) organization, other business functions such as Global and regional operations in developing a global technology strategy and roadmap for the Veeva and ************** platforms to enable operations across the business.

Lead a team of Veeva/************** architects in designing, developing and deploying Veeva/************** solutions and applying delivery best practices.

Demonstrate a customer centric approach by developing deep relationships with key business and IT colleagues across all supported functions as well as leveraging opportunities to understand our customers and how technologies can be leveraged to better engage them directly.

Maintain a high level of transparency and communication across business stakeholder groups and within IT.

Partner with EA organization in identifying the right tools, technologies and solutions in the CRM/CMS to support future growth.

Be accountable for the global CRM/CMS domain and ensure it meets business needs of today and is prepared for the needs of the future.

Influencing plans in a way that allows the organization to succeed while incorporating the operational realities of supporting functions, including IT.

Contributing to an IT function that translates the portfolio into actionable projects, budgets, staff and delivery plans, and ultimately, supported capabilities
Managing budget and deliverables.

Sharing accountability for successful deployment of IT projects, including playing an active role in ensuring the functional leads and business understand how to harness their technology for better business outcomes.

Establishing yourself as a trusted leader, confident in representing IT on global teams and contributing to their overall success, both on current requirements and anticipation of future needs.

Developing and managing a portfolio of IT activities necessary to support the goals of our global business.

Create mutual accountability with functional leaders to determine success metrics for all projects, and drive measurement and cross-functional reporting of these metrics to ensure successful projects and proper lessons learned.

Lead, motivate and inspire a team of talented colleagues who are responsible for CRM and CMS who design solutions and ensure execution on-time and with quality.

Participate and demonstrate leadership as a member of the GTO ITLT.

Be focused on business outcomes, not simply enabling technologies.

Familiarity with data sets used in reporting, e.g. transparency reporting includes: transfer of value activities in both Commercial and Research spaces

Portfolio, Project, Budget and Vendor Management

Coordination of IT Initiatives and priorities across Biogen
Utilizing broad business and IT knowledge to proactively research strategic technological solutions

Building and managing peer and management-level relationships through achievement of results, accountable to schedule, and allocation of resources and meeting customer needs

Collaboration with the technical teams in Infrastructure and our shared development and delivery organization

We would expect successful candidate to have both relevant experience and potential for further growth. We anticipate successful candidates will have roughly 8-10 years experience in the areas described.
Education Successful candidates could come from a range of undergraduate programs including Computer Science, Engineering, or other scientific/technical backgrounds with strong solution architecture and IT project delivery skills. An MBA or related post graduate degree, plus relevant business experience would be additional considerations.
