We are seeking a Business Operations Analyst for our Business Operations team in our Charlotte, NC
office. Business Operations acts as the primary source for requesting, ordering, gathering and
organizing pertinent Underwriting and policy information necessary for the achievement of company
goals relating to profit, growth, renewal retention, customer service and broker relationships.
The Business Operations Analyst has responsibility for ensuring Sompo International policy rating,
issuance and premium booking system(s) is functioning effectively for Sompo Internationals book of
business for their assigned line of business. This includes business impact analysis for proposed
changes and/or enhancements; problem analysis and resolution. In addition, provides adhoc training
for Business Operations and various business partners within Sompo International. This position
makes a positive contribution toward department goals by improving consistency, quality and
compliance of Insurance Department regulations as well as company specific guidelines, processes
and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interact with internal departments (i.e. Home Office Underwriting, Premium Audit,
Underwriting) on special projects or tasks as they relate to implementation of changes
impacting business operations, regulatory or compliance requirements.
Review documentation and written materials from internal (i.e. HOU, State Filings) and
external sources (i.e. NCCI and Independent Bureaus) regarding processes, roles,
responsibilities, policy solutions system(s), regulatory and/or compliance related issues.
Communicate necessary
Act as a conduit to ensure ongoing information is provided in regard to system changes,
updates and problems that may impact their respective book of business.
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) that responds to questions regarding process, roles,
responsibilities, rating/policy issuance system, regulatory and/or compliance related
question/problems.

Research and analyze problems pertaining to premium, statistical/financial data or policy
related problems. Explain details of analysis to appropriate business partners when
needed. Makes recommendations to correct and prevent future occurrences, follows
through to implementation of workflow changes when needed.

Qualifications
5 – 7 years experience in an operations environment with a strong emphasis in policy
solutions, statistical data and premium booking arena. Exposure to Underwriting, Premium
Audit and Reinsurance a plus.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency
Demonstrates diplomacy in dealing with people across the organization
Demonstrates the ability to evaluate results and resolve problems. Communicates results
to applicable individuals in a clear and comprehensive manner to aid in quick resolution.
Considers a variety of alternative to arrive at a timely, practical solution
Sompo International offers a competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with
