The Environmental Resilience Institute (ERI) at Indiana University, funded through the Prepared for Environmental Change Grand Challenge, facilitates collaboration between scientists, local officials, businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders in an effort to develop solutions that prepare Indiana for the impacts of environmental change. ERI is forecasting environmental changes in Indiana, working with governments and other partners to develop proactive responses to these changes, and innovating more effective ways to communicate with residents about ways to prepare. The Media Developer will work as part of the Policy and Implementation Team to manage, maintain and expand the front end of the ********** website and provide graphic design support in the form of logos, icons, infographics, presentations, animations, and brochures that are responsive to the existing design standards for IU. The successful candidate will also assist with the implementation of an online resource database and the development of an online platform for the Environmental Resilience Institute’s Hoosier Resilience Index. Duties may also include developing platforms and/or applications to manage and present data collected online.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field and two years of professional experience.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to problem solve. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work as part of team and individually. Demonstrated attention to detail.
Experience with Salesforce and Indiana University’s web content management system, Cascade Server; web design and proficiency in coding HTML/CSS; experience with data management and data presentation.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
The Media Developer will be expected to work 19 hours per week from the IU Bloomington, Indiana campus. The position is funded through June 2019, with the possibility for renewal.
