PODA- Technical Director
To lead Inteplast Engineered Films in product applications and technical development, quality assurance, and process improvements in accordance with Inteplast policies, procedures, and external regulatory bodies in the production of multi-layer Nylon, EVOH, and Barrier Films. Leverage industry resources and collaborate with raw material suppliers to stay abreast of latest resin technologies, to drive low cost film formulations without compromising key product attributes.
Work collaboratively and closely with the General Manager, Plant Manager, Sales and Marketing to develop and qualify film products for customers.
Establish full ownership of product trials. Coordinate and communicate with product management, quality control, sales, customer and manufacturing on trials and sample procedures in new product development.
Lead R & D in product innovations, design, and development by enhancing film formulations and product performance.
Direct the team through extensive knowledge of lab testing protocol, applying best practices to ensure customer functionality and application needs are met.
Recommends formulations enhancement to achieve high quality products.
Strive to reduce operational cost of production through the focus and implementation of lower cost and better performing raw materials.
Incorporate new technologies when feasible and practical into manufacturing process to support customer satisfaction and IEF growth strategies.
Strong leadership, interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of film-making, raw materials, industry and technologies to support and develop new applications and products.
Ability to lead and collorborate with cross-functional teams across the organization, R & D, Production and Sales.
Extensive knowledge of lab testing protocol
Minimum of 5 years in R & D experience, leading and managing product/technical development. 15+ years with significant experiernce in barrier & high-performance Co Ex Films. Experience with Nylon, EVOH and Suryln is essential.
In depth knowledge and collaborations with raw material suppliers in films formulation/technical development, latest applications and resin technologies.
Proven track record of initiating, planning and implementing technical projects timely and within budget.
Directed/Lead improvement projects and product development resulting in cost saving initiatives.
Minimum 4 year degree required, BS preferred in Chemical Engineering
Travel in excess of 50%.
Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, be highly organized and detail-oriented.
Customer focused, enthusiastic, self-driven, with stron work ethics.
Demonstrate exceptional teamwork adn customer service; behave professionally; treat others with respect and dignity.
Physical requirements include duties common to a regular office/lab environment.
Must have good oral and written communciation skills.
