Would you like to help build large scale airplane test systems that are several stories high? If so, we invite you to apply for the Software Engineer position with Flight Simulation Software Laboratories (FSSL) in Seattle, Washington. Position Requirements:

Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.
Supports software research and development projects.
Troubleshoots basic software issues.
Gathers information to support software project management.
Assists with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics.
Works under close supervision.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Proficient with C/C++ programming language, data structures, and design patterns.
Working knowledge of UNIX.
Experience with Matlab Simulink.
Experience using software repositories and version control.
4 year engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Additional programming languages: Java, Python, C#, FORTRAN.
Experience and understanding of Airplane Systems.
Experience working on hardware/software interfaces.
Experience with real-time software test systems.
Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
Experience with real-time software test systems.

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
