Job Description: Team member with the capability to contribute to the Employer Albuquerque Mobile Range Department through superb engineering. Assists in the design of software packages supporting control systems, and RF and optical tracking systems to facilitate future growth of business and in support of a variety of projects and customers. Continually strives to maintain the most up to date knowledge of technological advances within the industry. Should have an understanding of effective systems engineering and design. Contributes to the completion of routine technical and engineering tasks. Responsible for new software design and upgrades. Responsible for software architecture, software configuration management, software maintenance, upkeep and documentation. Provide hands on engineering support and assists in the design, simulation, fabrication, and operation of custom tracking systems in support of production, field operations and product development. Required Education: BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). Desired Education: MS in computer science, electrical engineering, or programming, with emphasis in control systems, RF, or optical/machine vision systems Required Skills: Candidate must have demonstrated capability in developing technical or real-time control software for engineering applications. 6-8+ years experience in a related field Experience in one or more of the following: C programming, C# programming, C++ programming, embedded software programming. Ability to contribute within a project team environment using Agile methodology Ability to interface with both internal and external customers Independent self-starter able to develop solutions under only general direction. Strong background in defining Software Architecture. Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced project environment. Strong written, interpersonal and communication skills. Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and debugging ability of software related issues. Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DoD Secret or higher clearance. Must be capable of obtaining a Class III FAA flight physical. This position may require periods of travel, both in CONUS and OCONUS. Desired Skills: 10+ years experience in a related field Experience in leading software teams using Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Agile/Scrum methods Experience with controls or design theory and ability to apply theory in real world scenarios Experience with signal processing, image processing, simulations, avionics, or electro-optics HDL coding/ FPGA development – digital engineering, software test, and hardware in the loop testing Experience with writing/developing/following Software Development Plans, Software Requirements Specifications, or Software Test Plans Strong background in Source code control (Git, subversion) and Software Configuration Management. Ability to accurately estimate software tasks and projects. Refactoring and software maintenance experience Computer and network configuration, management and information assurance/security Experience using and interfacing Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and other instruments and test equipment
