Are you interested in systems engineering? How about systems engineering for autonomous driving? Join us to develop one of autonomous driving’s key actuators, the Electric Power Steering system. As part of ZF’s EPS Core Mechatronics organization, you will use your creativity and experience to drive the design of the EPS’s mechatronics – ECU, motor, sensors and software – to deliver best-in-class autonomous safety, reliability and performance. This is a leading role in the organization requiring strong communication and influencing skills, self-reliance and global travel.
Lead the analysis of new customer requirements sets against ZF’s ‘core’ system requirements, develop compliance statements and represent ZF in front of the customer. You should therefore be willing to travel within the US and abroad for up to two weeks duration, perhaps twice a year.
Drive the development of ZF’s core system architecture to meet emerging system requirements, or tailor the core for a customer-specific program, flowing-down requirements to sub-system design teams.
Lead electronic, motor, sensor and software sub-system design teams to implement your flowed-down requirements.
Champion the integration and test of prototype EPS systems.
Lead the resolution of performance and reliability issues at vehicle and EPS system-levels.
Shape systems engineering practice within ZF – with model-based design and multi-level HIL test capability, we are aiming to match the state-of-the-art.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree or better preferred.
Track record developing electronics, motors, sensors, software and control systems within a formal systems engineering environment.
Experience of requirements management tools (eg DOORS), modeling languages (UML or SysML) and related modeling tools (eg IBM Rhapsody).
Experience applying design standards (eg ISO26262) and tools (DFMEA, FTA etc) for safety critical systems.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience of data logging, dynamic modeling and statistical analysis and associated tools (eg CANape, Matlab/Simulink, Minitab).
Knowledge of structured problem-solving techniques (eg Shainin Red X).
Must be a US citizen or valid green card holder.
