Job Title Systems Developer
As a member of the Enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) Team, the selected candidate will participate in the development, testing, and maintenance of our MDM system based upon TIBCO’s MDM Platform (also known as Collaborative Information Manager) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) products. They will be directly responsible for forming and maintaining good relationships with their business partners including other members of the IS organization.
Confer with MDM team members and business partners to understand detailed business requirements, program functions, and steps required to model and develop master data solutions.
Design, code, test, debug, and document sites and applications based on defined requirements.
Develop, configure, and deploy MDM rules, workflows, and data models.
Develop, configure, and deploy ESB processes and services.
Participate in the preparation of technical reports and instruction manuals.
Prepare documentation as required by Turnover Control to implement new or enhanced systems into a production environment.
Solve routine logic or development problems and determines appropriate solutions.
Spend at least 80% of time performing MDM development and support.
Maintain a good working knowledge of current web technologies and programming practices through continual self-guided training and research.
Conduct day-to-day activities and interactions with other employees in a professional and courteous manner.
Possess a 2 or 4 year IT or CS related degree, or at least 2 years of software development experience.
Strong data management and modeling skills.
Experience with use, configuration, and deployment of web-based applications.
Excellent testing, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
Above-average problem solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with SQL database environments and data access patterns.
Ability to work well on a team in person or via remote.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
Experience developing and consuming SOAP and RESTful web services.
Experience with messaging and integration platforms such as TIBCO BusinessWorks, TIBCO Enterprise Message Service, and WebSphere MQ.
Basic understanding of TCP/IP and general networking principles
Experience with DB2, MS SQL Server, and/or PostgreSQL.
Experience with Google Apps suite.
Experience with manufacturing data models and processes, including product specifications.
Knowledge of Shaw’s current systems and processes.
Note: This position may be filled at a salary Grade 5 or Grade 6 depending on skills and experience.
Work Shift 8 hour, day shift
